The Charter Township of Washington hosts a seven-member board comprised of a Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and four Trustees who govern the Township.
Washington Township was organized in 1827.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.8 square miles (95.3 km²), of which, 36.0 square miles (93.1 km²) of it is land and 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²) of it (2.34%) is water.
Township offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
